Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Matt Prater has made NFL history.

The veteran Broncos kicker sliced a league-record 64-yard field goal through the cold, crisp and thin Colorado air on the final play of the first half against the Tennessee Titans.

It broke the previous record of 63 shared by Tom Dempsey (1970), former Broncos kicker Jason Elam (1998), Raiders kicker Sebastian Janikowski (2011) and David Akers of the San Francisco 49ers (2012).

Prater's previous career best was a 59-yard make, but his new personal and league best pulled the Broncos within 21-20 at halftime.
