Bremen, Germany (SportsNetwork.com) - Bayern Munich continues to pile up the wins as the Bavarian side rolled to a 7-0 triumph at Werder Bremen on Saturday thanks to another strong outing from Franck Ribery.
The Frenchman scored two goals and set up another for Bayern, which sits four points ahead of second-place Bayer Leverkusen through the first 15 games in the Bundesliga this season.
Ribery had a hand in the opening goal as well as his cross put Bremen defender Assani Lukimya under pressure, forcing the Bremen man to divert the ball into his own net in the 21st minute.
Six minutes later, Daniel van Buyten doubled Bayern's advantage by heading home a cross from Toni Kroos.
Ribery scored for the first time in the match in the 38th minute to make it 3-0 when he finished off a low cross from Thomas Muller, putting Bayern into a commanding position at halftime.
Mario Mandzukic scored after being set up by Ribery on the hour mark, while Muller benefited from a nice ball courtesy of Mario Gotze to add his name to the scoresheet.
Ribery notched a second goal in the 83rd and Gotze capped the rout with a goal of his own shortly before the whistle, handing Bremen its worst ever home loss.
In a battle of top-three sides, Bayer Leverkusen downed Borussia Dortmund, 1-0, with a first-half goal from Heung-Min Son.
Leverkusen was reduced to 10 men with 11 minutes to play as Emir Spahic was sent off, but the visitors held on to claim three points and move into second place by themselves.
Monchengladbach strengthened its hold on fourth place by securing a 2-1 win over Schalke thanks to a Max Kruse penalty kick late in the first half, which came after Schalke's Benedikt Howedes was sent off for a foul inside the area.
Roberto Firmino tallied the winning goal early in the second half as Hoffenheim turned back Eintracht, 2-1, Stuttgart overcame a 2-1 deficit to down Hannover, 4-2, and Raul Bobadilla's 18th-minute goal was the difference as Augsburg topped Hamburg, 1-0.
