The Tennnessee Titans have signed veteran safety Shann Schillinger to replace Michael Griffin during his one-game suspension.
The NFL upheld Griffin's suspension Tuesday as a repeat offender of the league's safety rules with hits to the head and neck of defenseless players, which will keep him out of Sunday's game at Indianapolis.
The Titans announced the deal Wednesday with Schillinger.
The 6-foot Schillinger played 36 games with Atlanta over the past four seasons mostly on special teams. He missed 2012 with a foot injury and played five games this season with the Falcons before being released in October.
The Titans also added offensive lineman Tyler Horn to the practice squad and waived offensive lineman Oscar Johnson from the practice squad.
