Chargers defensive boss Pagano sees positives in win at KC, 'but our bad is bad'

The San Diego Chargers' secondary might look different Sunday when they take on the Cincinnati Bengals.

Coach Mike McCoy and defensive coordinator John Pagano say there's a competition among the defensive backs after the Chargers allowed Alex Smith to throw for 294 yards and three touchdowns in San Diego's 41-38 win Sunday.

Cornerback Derek Cox was benched for the third time in four games, leading McCoy to say there would be a competition for jobs.

Cox was one of the team's key free-agent signings in the offseason.

Says Pagano: "There were positives in that Kansas City game, but our bad is bad."

San Diego (5-6) hosts AFC North-leading Cincinnati (7-4) on Sunday.
