Dallas, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Three goals in a span of less than a minute highlighted a five-goal third period, as Dallas took down Anaheim, 6-3, at American Airlines Center.
Cody Eakin, Stephane Robidas and Ryan Garbutt netted the key scores for the Stars, who trailed 2-1 after 40 minutes but rebounded to win for the fourth time in six games.
"Honestly I think we just started getting some bounces going hard to the net," Garbutt said of the team's turnaround. "It's nice to get some chances go in like that."
Antoine Roussel added his second of the contest and Alex Chiasson also tallied in the final stanza, backing a 28-save effort from Dan Ellis.
Emerson Etem, Nick Bonino and Dustin Penner scored for the Ducks, who lost for the sixth time in their last eight.
Jonas Hiller allowed five goals on 32 shots in defeat.
Eakin's one-timer off an Erik Cole dish at 5:25 of the third period evened the score once again, and 25 seconds later, a Robidas floater from below the circles zipped under the crossbar for a 3-2 Dallas edge.
On the following shift, Garbutt outraced a Ducks defender on the right wing and beat Hiller high to the glove side for a 4-2 game.
Roussel stood inside the crease and a shot from the left boards by Garbutt deflected off his body and in to make it 5-2 for Dallas with 7:52 on the clock.
Penner finally answered for the Ducks on the power play 77 seconds later for a two-goal margin, but that was all Anaheim offered for a comeback.
"We're up 2-1 after the second and in a key position and mental mistakes end up costing us the game," Ducks forward Andrew Cogliano said. "It just can't happen for a team like us."
Hiller was called to the bench with more than two minutes left, and Chiasson hit the empty net inside the final minute to wrap up the contest.
Etem slid a Daniel Winnik centering feed through Ellis' pads from the slot with just over six minutes played in the first.
An attempted pass from Vernon Fiddler to Roussel caromed off the latter's skate and past Hiller with 6:47 remaining in the second. A brief review upheld the goal, finding no distinct kicking motion.
Bonino's shot in close from the left side gave Anaheim a 2-1 edge in the final 36 seconds of the middle frame.
