Glasgow, Scotland (SportsNetwork.com) - Celtic netted two goals in stoppage time to claim a 3-1 win over Aberdeen at Parkhead on Saturday, keeping the club five points clear at the top of the Scottish Premier League.
Kris Commons scored the opening goal for Celtic in the 36th minute, but his tally was canceled out in first-half stoppage time by former Hoops forward Niall McGinn, who scored his seventh goal for Aberdeen this season.
The second half saw both clubs go close to taking the lead as Georgios Samaras struck the woodwork for Celtic, while McGinn nearly doubled his total for the visitors by striking the post himself.
However, with the match having just entered added time, substitute Derk Boerrigter separated the sides when he stabbed home a rebound after Aberdeen goalkeeper Jamie Langfield parried a header from Virgil van Dijk.
Commons then secured the win with nearly the last kick of the match as Samaras had a shot saved by Langfield, only for Commons to follow up and score his second goal of the game.
Inverness remains within five points of Celtic after a fourth-minute goal from William McKay was enough to notch a 1-0 win over St Johnstone.
Motherwell climbed into third place after second-half goals from John Sutton and Henri Anier gave the club a 2-0 away win against Kilmarnock.
Hearts salvaged a 2-2 draw at home with Ross County after Ryan Stevenson scored the equalizer in the 89th minute, Gary Mackay-Steven tallied two goals to lead Dundee United past Partick Thistle, 4-1, while Hibernian and St Mirren played out a 0-0 draw at St Mirren Park.
