Raleigh, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Hurricanes forward Alexander Semin will be out indefinitely after suffering a concussion.
Carolina head coach Kirk Muller confirmed the news on Tuesday, revealing that the injury occurred during Saturday's 4-2 loss in St. Louis on a hit from Blues defenseman Alex Pietrangelo. Semin missed Monday's 4-1 loss to the Bruins as a result.
Semin also missed the final two games of last season due to a concussion.
The 29-year-old veteran tallied 44 points in 2013, his first in Carolina after signing a one-year deal as a free agent. In 20 games this season, he has posted three goals and six assists.
