Prosecutors setting up interview with alleged victim in Florida State quarterback case

Prosecutors are setting up an interview with the victim in the investigation of an alleged sexual assault tied to Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston that was reported nearly a year ago.

State Attorney Willie Meggs says he expects to close the investigation in a few weeks. It's unclear why Tallahassee police did not give the case to prosecutors until this week.

Meggs says the victim has moved out of state and expressed concern the media attention has focused primarily on Winston, a Heisman Trophy contender.

In a phone interview Saturday, Meggs said: "There is a victim out there right now whose world has tumbled down around her."

Winton's attorney says he has provided two eye witnesses accounts that exonerate his client.

The Seminoles play Syracuse at home Saturday.
