Oakland, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Oakland Athletics have agreed to terms with infielder Nick Punto on a one-year contract.

Financial details were not disclosed, but the deal includes a vesting option for 2015.

Punto spent the 2013 campaign with the Los Angeles Dodgers and batted .255 in 116 games with a pair of homers and 21 runs batted in. The versatile veteran made 33 starts at shortstop, 21 starts at second base and 17 at third base.

The 36-year-old journeyman has a career .248 batting average in 1,090 games with Philadelphia (2001-03), Minnesota (2004-10), St. Louis (2011), Boston (2012) and the Dodgers (2012-13). He was a member of the Cardinals' World Series championship team in 2011.
