Tyler Haws had 31 points and eight rebounds, Matt Carlino scored 26 points and BYU beat Stanford 112-103 on Monday night in the first major test of the season for both teams.

Kyle Collinsworth added 14 points, nine assists and seven rebounds to help the hot-shooting Cougars (2-0) build a 19-point lead with 6:30 remaining. BYU shot 53.5 percent from the floor and led for the final 37 minutes.

Chasson Randle scored a career-high 33 points to go with seven rebounds and Dwight Powell had 28 points and seven rebounds, but their Cardinal (1-1) teammates struggled to provide support. Stanford shot 46 percent and had 16 turnovers.

Stanford hadn't allowed 100 points at home in a non-overtime game since beating Yale 129-108 on Dec. 6, 1985.
