Demondre Chapman scored a career-high 30 points as Prairie View A&M led from wire-to-wire in a 100-73 win over Schreiner on Monday night.

The Panthers (1-1) opened the game with a pair of turnovers on its first two possessions before Chapman scored six straight points. Schreiner would play from behind the rest of the night.

Chapman's layup with 14:48 left in the first half pushed the Prairie View lead into double digits, 16-5, but the Mountaineers clawed back within four, 23-19, with 8:30 remaining in the half.

PVAMU, however, closed the first half with a 22-9 run and went into the break leading 45-28.

Clark scored eight of his 12 points in the first 8:31 of the second half as Schreiner (0-1) pulled within eight, 58-51 but Prairie View then reeled off a 16-4 run to put the game away.

AJ Myres paced the Mountaineers with 23 points.
