Nashville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Tennessee Titans quarterback Jake Locker, who left Sunday's 29-27 loss to Jacksonville, could miss the rest of the season due to a right foot injury, according to a report.
The Titans believe Locker suffered a Lisfranc injury and that surgery is possible, sources told the Tennessean. A Lisfranc injury is damage to a ligament that stabilizes the midfoot.
Locker suffered the injury in the second quarter. With less than six minutes remaining in the first half, Locker handed the ball off to Chris Johnson and landed awkwardly on his right foot and came up limping.
Locker stayed in for the next play, and after a 4-yard run was hit hard and fumbled, which was recovered by the Jaguars. Locker did not return and later was on the sideline on crutches and in a protective boot.
Ryan Fitzpatrick came in to replace Locker. Fitzpatrick signed a two-year deal in the offseason to join the Titans. He is expected to start against the Indianapolis Colts Thursday night.
The loss to the previously winless Jaguars dropped the Titans to 4-5. Fitzpatrick completed 22-of-33 passes for 264 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
