Dingwall, Scotland (SportsNetwork.com) - Two goals apiece from Virgil van Dijk and Joe Ledley helped Celtic claim a 4-1 win at Ross County on Saturday, moving the Hoops five points clear at the top of the Scottish Premier League.
Van Dijk scored his first goal as a member of Celtic in the 41st minute when he nodded home a cross from Emilio Izaguirre, putting the visitors up 1-0 at the break.
The 22-year-old then followed that up with his second seven minutes after halftime when he got his head to a Charlie Mulgrew corner kick, redirecting the ball past goalkeeper Mark Brown.
Ivan Sproule pulled a goal back for the hosts in the 68th, but Ledley found the net shortly after with a header from another Izaguirre cross.
He doubled his total to make it 4-1 in the 73rd after being set up by Darnell Fisher, and only the post denied Ledley a second-half hat trick.
Aberdeen dropped to third place after losing 3-1 at home to last-place Hearts thanks to three second-half goals for the visitors following a 55th-minute red card to Barry Robson.
Inverness made the most of Aberdeen's defeat by moving into second place with a 2-0 away win against Hibernian as Nick Ross and William McKay scored goals in the opening 20 minutes.
Dundee United rolled to a 4-0 victory at Motherwell behind two goals from Ryan Gauld, Steven Thompson's brace helped St Mirren to a 3-0 win over Partick Thistle and Steve May scored twice as St Johnstone toppled Kilmarnock, 3-1.
