Edmonton, AB (SportsNetwork.com) - The Edmonton Oilers shipped defenseman Ladislav Smid to the Calgary Flames on Friday.
Also heading to southern Alberta is goaltender Olivier Roy, with a pair of prospects -- goaltender Laurent Brossoit and forward Roman Horak -- heading up to the provincial capital.
Smid, a 27-year-old Czech, totaled one goal and one assist with a minus-6 in 17 games for the Oilers this season. He'll head south having totaled 11 goals and 65 points with a minus-45 rating over 474 games in seven-plus seasons for Edmonton.
Horak, 22, has spent the past three seasons with the Flames, totaling 18 points in 82 appearances. In 86 games with Abbotsford of the American Hockey League, he posted 41 points (20G, 21A).
