The start of the Turkish Airlines Open was delayed by three hours because of flooding caused by a thunder storm — meaning Tiger Woods may have to complete his round on Friday.

Thursday's first round started at 12:05 p.m. local time (5:05 a.m. EDT) after several of the greens were flooded on the Colin Montgomerie-designed Maxx Royal course. That gives Woods and Race to Dubai leader Henrik Stenson a 2:05 p.m. (7:05 a.m. EDT) tee time, with darkness expected to set in three hours later.

Tournament director Miguel Vidadoar said he expects an earlier start Friday to let some players complete their first round, and that "I'm confident we can get back to normal and proceed with all four rounds."
