Santa Clara, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Francisco 49ers activated wide receiver Mario Manningham and cornerback Eric Wright on Monday, while waiving cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha.
Manningham signed with San Francisco on Mar. 22, 2012 and caught 42 passes for 449 yards and a touchdown in 12 games last year before sustaining a season- ending torn ACL in a loss at Seattle.
Manningham was placed on the physically unable to perform list on Aug. 27 of this year, the same day Wright was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list to tend to a personal matter after signing a one-year deal with the 49ers earlier in the month.
Both players returned to practice on Oct. 15 and are expected to be available when the 49ers host Carolina on Sunday.
Once considered the top-rated cornerback in the NFL, Asomugha appeared in just three games with one start after signing a one-year deal with the 49ers in the offseason. The 32-year-old recorded three tackles and two passes defensed.
