Cape Town, South Africa (SportsNetwork.com) - Tjaart van der Walt carded a 1- under 71 on Sunday to cruise to a 6-stroke victory at the Lion of Africa Cape Town Open.

Van der Walt claimed his first career win on the Sunshine Tour at 14-under-par 274.

Van der Walt entered the final round at Royal Cape Golf Club with a 2-stroke lead over Hennie Otto, and both players bogeyed the first to keep the margin the same.

Otto then birdied the third to pull within one of the lead, but he would fall apart from there as he bogeyed three of his next four holes to fall well behind.

Van der Walt, meanwhile, rolled in a pair of birdies at the sixth and ninth to make the turn at 14-under. He would counter a bogey at the 14th with a birdie at the 15th to finish there and close out his big win.

Otto eventually finished with a 4-over 76 to drop into third place at 7-under 281, which was a shot behind Michael Hollick. Hollick fired the low round of the day with a 4-under 68 to jump into second at 8-under 280.

Jared Harvey (74) sat alone in fourth place at 6-under, while Trevor Fisher, Jr. (70) and Doug McGuigan (73) shared fifth at minus-5.
