Flames defenseman Mark Giordano will be miss six to eight weeks due to a broken ankle.

Giordano had a strong start to the season, recording two goals and seven assists in eight games for Calgary (5-4-2). He hasn't played since Oct. 21 and the team had been vague about the injury.

The Flames also say winger Lee Stempniak is week-to-week with a broken foot while defenseman Chris Breen is day to day with an abdominal strain.
