Milan, Italy (SportsNetwork.com) - It was not pretty, but Inter Milan picked up three points with a 4-2 victory over Hellas Verona at the San Siro on Saturday.

The home side went in front after just eight minutes when Jonathan's shot was deflected off of Verona's Vangelis Moras and into his own net.

Inter doubled its advantage just four minutes later with another scrappy goal as Fredy Guarin's shot pinballed around the six-yard box before Rodrigo Palacio turned it in from close range, though the Argentine knew little about the effort.

Raphael Martinho pulled one back for Hellas Verona with a quick shot off the half-volley in the 31st minute, but Inter's two-goal lead was restored seven minutes later when Esteban Cambiasso nodded home from close range.

Rolando extended Inter's advantage on the other side of halftime, punching home a loose ball amid a crowd inside the penalty area in the 55th minute.

Hellas Verona pulled another goal back through Romulo in the 70th minute, but it failed to spark a comeback as Inter closed out the game with ease.

The result sees the two sides swap places in the table as Inter climbs to fourth place with 18 points, two points better than Hellas Verona.

In Saturday's other Serie A fixture, Sampdoria claimed its second straight league win as Shkodran Mustafi's strike was enough to hand the club a 1-0 defeat of 10-man Atalanta.
