The Associated Press has learned that Sebastien Bourdais will replace Tony Kanaan at KV Racing next season.
Three people familiar with the signing said Wednesday that Bourdais signed a two-year contract with KVSH Racing. They spoke on condition of anonymity because the signing has not been announced.
Kanaan won the Indianapolis 500 in May but is moving to Chip Ganassi Racing next year. KVSH courted three-race winner James Hinchcliffe, but gave him a short deadline to accept the contract that offered a salary and did not require the driver to bring any sponsorship money.
When Hinchcliffe decided KVSH's timeline was too fast, the team moved to Bourdais, a 31-race winner and four-time Champ Car champion.
