Nashville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Minnesota Wild goaltender Niklas Backstrom left Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Nashville Predators with an apparent right leg injury.

Backstrom was forced from the game with 8:46 remaining in the first period, when his leg was wrapped around the post in a goalmouth collision between teammate and defenseman Keith Ballard and Nashville's Eric Nystrom.

Josh Harding took over in net for the Wild, and allowed Nystrom's penalty-shot goal to put the visitors down 3-1.

Backstrom departed having allowed two goals on only five shots.
