The shame of it for SMU is that it wasted this glorious two-point conversion on a loss.
Rutgers beat the Mustangs 55-52 in overtime Saturday in Dallas. Overtime was necessary because of what quarterback Garrett Gilbert did on this play, scrambling and throwing all the way across the field for a two-point conversion with a minute left.
Gilbert attempted 70 passes, completing 45 for 484 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions.
