Maryland quarterback C.J. Brown has left the game against No. 8 Florida State and will not return.

The ACC's leader in total offense was hit around the waist by Florida State linebacker Dan Hicks and in the chest by nose guard Jacobbi McDaniel late in the second quarter and did not get up.

The Maryland medical staff attended him on the field then walked him directly to the locker room.

Brown was taken for X-rays and will not return to the game, the Maryland sports information department announced. The university would not specify what part of the body would be examined.

Brown was 6-for-14 with 82 yards passing before suffering the injury. The Terrapins trailed 14-0 when Brown left the game.
