If you haven't caught the brilliant and witty excerpts of @BMcCarthy32 , you've been missing out.

Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander Brandon McCarthy just completed his eighth season in the majors ... and during October, he'll be helping FOX Sports.com follow along through the 2013 playoffs.

If you're wondering, this past season he faced the Dodgers twice, the Pirates twice and the Cardinals once.

He also had one interleague start against the Red Sox. He didn't face the Braves, Tigers, Rays or A's, but he did pitch for the A's in 2011 and '12, going a combined 17-15 with a 3.29 ERA.

So he just might share some inside scoops you would never be aware of.
