Fire, DCU finish level at RFK

Washington, D.C. ( - There was no separating D.C. United and the Chicago Fire on Saturday as the two sides played to a 2-2 draw at RFK Stadium.

Chicago had taken the lead after 26 minutes when Jhon Kennedy Hurtado nodded home a corner kick from Harrison Shipp, but D.C. got back on equal terms nine minutes later when Fabian Espindola hammered a low free kick past Sean Johnson.

United thought they had won it in the 72nd minute when Perry Kitchen capped a scramble in the box by punching home the go-ahead goal, but the Fire equalized nine minutes from time when Patrick Nyarko got to the byline and pulled the ball back for Quincy Amarikwa to slot home from close range.

Both clubs remain in search of their first win of the season as Chicago improves to three points, two points better than United.
