Robert Lowe ran for a career-high 138 yards and scored three times to lead Texas State past Wyoming 42-21 on Saturday night.

Chris Nutall put the game away early in the fourth quarter with his second touchdown, a 5-yarder, putting Texas State (3-1) ahead 35-14 with 13:11 left.

Wyoming (3-2) entered the game ranked eighth in the nation in total offense, averaging over 556 yards with Brett Smith averaging more than 403 total yards. The Cowboys were limited to 356 yards and Smith finished with 292 yards and a score.

Brandon Miller ran for two second quarter Wyoming touchdowns, of 4 and 5 yards. Robert Herron's 11-yard touchdown pulled Wyoming within 35-21 with 11:12 left.

Halftime was shortened to eight minutes due to a weather delay that lasted more than three hours.

The game was the 200th career win for Texas State coach Dennis Franchione.
