Russell Westbrook has already taken part in some shooting, dribbling and running drills for Oklahoma City.
The talented point guard, however, it taking a day-by-day approach to his recovery from a right knee injury that cost him much of the playoffs last season.
The Thunder open training camp Saturday, eager to put the memories of last season's disappointing playoff exit to rest. Westbrook says he expects to take part in the first day of camp, but there's no timetable for his return.
Coach Scott Brooks says Westbrook learned more about the game while watching from the bench, something he expects to pay off this season.
The Thunder, led by Kevin Durant's 28.1 points per game, finished first in the West last season with a 60-22 record.
