Liberty University will kick off its 2014 football schedule with a trip to Chapel Hill on Aug. 30 to face the University of North Carolina, the Flames program announced Thursday.

It will be the third time in four years the Flames will open their season against an Atlantic Coast Conference team. They played at North Carolina State in 2011 and at Wake Forest in 2012.

It also will be the fourth consecutive season the Flames open on the road against an FBS school.

This will be the first meeting between UNC and Liberty, which plays in the Big South Conference.
