As you almost certainly have heard, St. Louis Cardinals right-hander Michael Wacha came within one out of the Cardinals' first no-hitter since 2001 (Bud Smith) on Tuesday, only to have the rookie's quest brought to a halt by a high-chopper, infield single off the bat of Ryan Zimmerman.
The not-quite no-no was a bummer for the Busch Stadium crowd of 38,940 hoping to see the Cardinals' first home no-hitter since 1983 (Bob Forsch). You could hear it and see it in the instant after shortstop Pete Kozma's throw pulled Matt Adams off the bag at first, with Zimmerman narrowly missing Adams' swipe tag:

Unfortunately for St. Louis fans, there wasn't much time to smolder after Zimmerman put their collective flame out, as the Cards took the field again at 12:45 p.m. local time for the series finale against the Nationals.
But Damon Oliver, the in-house DJ at Busch Stadium, wasn't going to let his mood be spoiled by Wacha's near-miss, and instead honored the 22-year-old's effort in the most unique way an in-house DJ can, playing only one-hit wonders over the stadium PA in between innings during St. Louis' 4-1 win:

(There It Is)," and or Ini Kamoze's "Here Comes the Hotstepper" would have all been acceptable 1990s substitutes -- but otherwise, an awesome effort by Oliver.
