Paris, France – Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva could miss several weeks of action after sustaining a thigh injury in his club's 1-1 draw with AS Monaco on Sunday.
The Brazilian needed to be subbed out of Sunday's match after just 16 minutes at the Parc des Princes and will undergo further evaluation on Monday to determine the full extent of damage.
Silva's departure was followed four minutes later by an equalizing goal from Monaco's Radamel Falcao as the newly-promoted club held on for a draw in the French capital.
"Him coming off changed things, that's for sure," PSG manager Laurent Blanc said. "It's no coincidence that we conceded a goal four minutes later. We're going to do some tests, but I think that we've lost him for a while."
The result sees both club remain unbeaten through six matches with Monaco two points clear at the top of the Ligue 1 table.
