David Wright will be in the New York Mets' lineup for the first time in seven weeks after the team activated the All-Star third baseman from the 15-day disabled list on Friday.

Wright, sidelined since Aug. 2 with a strained right hamstring, will bat third in Friday's opener of a three-game series with the Philadelphia Phillies from Citizens Bank Park.

The Mets' captain pronounced himself ready to play after going through workouts on Wednesday and Thursday without incident.

Prior to the injury, Wright batted .305 with 16 homers and 54 RBI over 105 games this season. His home run total still ranks second among Mets' players.
