Pooh Jeter scored 10 of his game-high 20 points in the fourth quarter to lead Ukraine to a 66-58 victory over Italy at the European basketball championship on Friday and earn a spot at next year's World Cup.

Ukraine went on a 9-0 run to open the fourth quarter in a game between two quarterfinal losers.

Ukraine will play Slovenia in the playoff for fifth place on Saturday, while Italy will face Serbia in the game for seventh place and the last available spot in the World Cup.

Jeter, an American-born guard, made two free throws and a jumper in the run at the start of the fourth and Maksym Pustozvonov added two jumpers as Italy went scoreless for five minutes.
