Georgia Tech sophomore guard Chris Bolden has been suspended for the first three games of the season, Yellow Jackets coach Brian Gregory announced Friday.

Bolden was suspended for a violation of team rules. No further explanation was given.

"When a violation of our team rules occurs, our intention is always to deal with it firmly and appropriately," Gregory said in a statement. "We expect the young men in our program to meet certain standards, and there has to be accountability when those standards are not met."

Bolden will miss home games against Presbyterian on Nov. 8 and Delaware State on Nov. 11, and a road game against Georgia on Nov. 15.

The 6-foot-3 guard from Tifton, Ga., averaged 7.3 points in 31 games as a freshman last season.
