New York Mets third baseman David Wright could return to the lineup on Friday night when the club opens a three-game set against the Phillies in Philadelphia.

Wright has been on the disabled list since August 2 with a strained right hamstring.

He went through workouts on back-to-back days on Wednesday and Thursday, and said he wants to wait and see how he feels Thursday night and Friday morning before making a decision.

"If I'm healthy enough to play, I want to play." said Wright. I think it's important for the team because we are trying to finish as strongly as we can."

Wright is batting .309 with 16 home runs and 54 RBI over 105 games this season.
