Tennessee Titans safety Bernard Pollard and Houston Texans cornerback Kareem Jackson have reportedly each received $42,000 fines from the NFL for what the league deemed to be illegal hits during Sunday's game between the teams.

Pollard was disciplined for a hard hit to the Texans' Andre Johnson that knocked the All-Pro wide receiver out of Houston's 30-24 overtime win in the fourth quarter with a concussion. Though he was not penalized on the play, a league spokesman told NFL.com that Pollard's blow was deemed to be to the head/neck area of a defenseless player.

Pollard, who was handed a $10,000 fine for a flagrant hit during the preseason, verified the penalty on his Twitter account.

"So @nfl said I did "everything right" but 42k later I still get fined. Wow! It's called football but they want 2 hand touch," Pollard tweeted.

The Houston Chronicle reported Jackson's fine, which the newspaper said he planned to appeal. The fourth-year pro was flagged for a blow to the head of Tennessee wideout Kendall Wright.
