Left tackle Andrew Whitworth was active and ready to start against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night, leaving the Cincinnati Bengals with their offensive line intact.

Whitworth missed much of camp and an opening loss at Chicago because of a sore left knee. He had the knee cleaned out after last season and aggravated it during camp.

The Bengals added a linebacker for the game, promoting J.K. Schaffer off their practice squad. They waived safety Jeromy Miles, who had one tackle on special teams.

Pittsburgh chose to go with kicker Shaun Suisham, who suffered a mild hamstring strain last Sunday. They signed Shayne Graham as a precaution, but he was inactive on Monday. Cornerbacks Cortez Allen (ankle) and Curtis Brown (illness) also were inactive.
