UNCASEVILLE, Conn. – Izzy Castro Marques made two free throws with 1.9 seconds remaining in overtime and the Connecticut Sun edged the Indiana Fever 82-80 on Sunday.
Castro Marques led Connecticut (10-24) with 19 points. Mistie Bass had 16 points and 12 rebounds and Renee Montgomery added 16 points for the Sun.
Karima Christmas led the playoff-bound Fever (16-18) with 21 points. Katie Douglas had 14 points, Erlana Larkins and Jeanette Pohlen each scored 12.
Larkins missed a short jumper at the buzzer for Indiana.
Kelsey Griffin, who had 10 points, forced overtime scoring with 0.4 seconds left in regulation.
Both teams played with seven players because of injuries and to rest players on the last day of the regular season. Indiana will advance to the WNBA playoffs.
