Indianapolis Colts left guard Donald Thomas has been carted off the field with a knee injury early in their game against Miami.
Thomas appeared to clutch his right knee on a play on which Andrew Luck threw a 22-yard pass to T.Y. Hilton. The 6-foot-3, 334-pound offensive lineman stayed down several minutes Sunday before he was taken off the field on a cart. Colts officials say he will not return.
The severity of the injury was not immediately clear.
Thomas was one of the Colts' first free-agent signings in March as Indy tried to upgrade an offensive line that gave up 41 sacks last year.
