Huntsville, TX – Jimmy Garoppolo is still playing a video game.
The Eastern Illinois senior quarterback threw for 480 yards and a school-record seven touchdowns as No. 9 Eastern Illinois throttled No. 18 Illinois State, 57-24, in the Mid-American Classic Saturday night.
Garoppolo completed 26-of-41 pass attempts. He connected with Erik Lora 10 times for 186 yards and three touchdowns, and Adam Drake 11 times for 176 yards and two touchdowns.
Lora became the Ohio Valley Conference's all-time receptions leader, pushing his career total to 240.
Garoppolo threw four touchdowns in the first quarter, including an 86-yarder to Keiondre Glober. His other touchdown pass went to Andre Hodge for six yards.
Cameron Meredith caught a pair of touchdowns for Illinois State.

Eastern Washington sophomore quarterback Vernon Adams completed 21-of-41 pass attempts for 326 yards and three touchdowns with one interception.
Linebacker Ronnie Hamlin had 14 tackles in the loss.

Quarterback Jake Bleskin's first start in place of injured DeNarius McGhee was a success for Montana State as he completed 26-of-35 passes for 305 yards and two touchdowns to wide receiver Brian Flotkoetter.
As the Bobcats posted their first shutout since 2006, defensive end Brad Daly racked up four sacks and outside linebacker Alex Singleton had four tackles for loss and returned an interception for a touchdown.
McGhee, who separated his right shoulder in a loss at SMU in MSU's second game, had started 40 straight games.

Terrance West made the most of his 16 carries, scoring five touchdowns. He finished with 82 yards on the ground.
Derrick Joseph opened the second half with a 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown while Towson was building a 49-0 lead.

Bearkats senior Timothy Flanders rushed for 108 yards and two touchdowns, becoming the Southland Conference's all-time touchdown leader. He surpassed Brent Grimes of Central Arkansas with his first touchdown. His second TD pushed him to 61 in his career.
Senior quarterback Brian Bell threw for two touchdowns and rushed for one.

Zach Zenner rushed for 128 yards and three touchdowns and South Dakota State had four interceptions of Southeastern Louisiana quarterback Bryan Bennett, including Dallas Brown's 52-yard return for a touchdown.
Southeastern Louisiana held a 506-345 advantage in total yards, but had six turnovers.
UT Martin (2-1) 24, No. 8 Central Arkansas (1-2) 23
Dylan Favre passed for three touchdowns and UT Martin held off Central Arkansas for its second win over a nationally ranked team. The Skyhawks beat then-No. 24 Chattanooga to open the season.
UTM won after J'Vontez Blackmon blocked Eddie Camara's 42-yard field goal attempt as time expired.
UCA quarterback Wynrick Smothers was 35-of-52 for 328 yards and two touchdowns against two interceptions. Damien Watts caught nine passes for 115 yards and one TD.

Wofford took control of the Southern Conference race by forcing three turnovers and scoring 21 straight points over the second and fourth quarters.
Michael Weimer's 40-yard touchdown pass to Jeff Ashley with 22 seconds left in the second quarter put the Terriers ahead to stay, 17-14.
Donovan Johnson had 36 carries for 141 yards and Jonny Martin scored on a pair of rushes in the win.

Montana quarterback Jordan Johnson was 15-of-19 for 354 yards and five touchdowns, and Chase Naccarato also threw for a score.
Jordan Canada rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns in the Grizzlies' 609- yard assault.
One year after UND wide receiver Greg Hardin had 333 receiving yards in an upset of Montana, he was held to five receptions for 46 yards.

New Hampshire jumped way ahead early against Colgate and never looked back. The Wildcats racked up 336 total yards of offense in the first half and opened up a 40-6 lead midway through the contest.
Andy Vailas led New Hampshire offensively, completing 19-of-31 attempts for 208 yards with two touchdowns with an interception. Overall, the Wildcats gained 551 yards and scored seven touchdowns.
Colgate quarterback Gavin McCarney didn't play due to knee and shoulder injuries.

McNeese State rallied past Division II West Alabama. Cody Stroud's 20-yard touchown pass to Diontae Spencer with 46 seconds to play was the difference.
Stroud threw for a career-high 366 yards and a touchdown to five different receivers.

Cal Poly lost to an FBS opponent for the second straight week.
Sophomore quarterback Chris Brown had 225 yards of total offense and accounted for touchdowns on both a run and a pass in the loss.
Gardner-Webb (2-1) 12, No. 15 Richmond (1-2) 10
Jordan Day's 30-yard field goal with 25.8 seconds left lifted Gardner-Webb to an upset of visiting Richmond.
Day kicked four field goals for all of the Runnin' Bulldogs' points. He is a fifth-year senior who spent his first four years at Gardner-Webb on the soccer team.
Richmond's Michael Strauss passed for 305 yards and a touchdown in the loss. Brandon Jordi 43-yard field goal attempt as time expired was just short.

Buffalo survived a scare from Stony Brook when Anthone Taylor scored on a 6- yard run to end the fifth overtime.
Nick Ferrara kicked a 25-yard field goal - his third of the game - to give Stony Brook a 23-20 lead to open the fifth overtime. He missed a 37-yard field goal attempt that would have won the game to end the fourth overtime.
Lyle Negron was 25-of-48 for 300 yards and two touchdowns in the loss.

Coastal Carolina overcame a 24-14 deficit midway in the second quarter, scoring 37 unanswered points to take a 51-24 lead.
Alex Ross passed for 292 yards and three touchdowns, while Lorenzo Taliaferro rushed for 174 yards and three touchdowns. Coastal piled up 631 yards of total offense, second-best in school history.

Lehigh receiver Lee Kurfis went over 200 yards receiving (211) and scored two touchdowns for the second week. Quarterback Brandon Bialkowski torched the Monmouth secondary for 375 yards and three touchdowns with an interception.
A blocked punt by Monmouth actually helped Lehigh, as the Mountain Hawks gained possession of the ball and took it for a first down that set up Bialkowski's 40-yard TD pass to Kurfis that made it 28-25 with 10:02 remaining in the fourth quarter.
No. 23 Bethune-Cookman (3-0) 34, FIU (0-3) 13
Bethune-Cookman never trailed FIU while racking up 349 rushing yards and posting a 13th win by an FCS team over an FBS opponent this season.
Anthony Jordan rushed for 150 yards and a touchdown to fuel Bethune-Cookman. Cary White rushed for 69 yards and two touchdowns, while quarterback Quentin Williams added 69 yards and one score on the ground.
Tim Burke scored on a 92-yard interception return on the first play of the fourth quarter to push Bethune-Cookman's lead to 34-7.
Earlier Saturday, unranked Fordham tripped Temple, 30-29, for the day's first FCS win over an FBS opponent.
Michigan State (3-0) 55, No. 24 Youngstown State (2-1) 17
There was nothing ugly about this win for the Spartans, who held Youngstown State to just 172 total yards on offense. A week ago, Penguins set a program record with 718 yards of offense against Morehead State.
Sophomore quarterback Connor Cook tossed four touchdowns for Michigan State. Penguins senior quarterback Kurt Hess accounted for 121 of his team's 172 offensive yards.

Northern Arizona scored on two interceptions returns in the fourth quarter to pull out the victory, one by Lucky Dozier (78 yards) and one by Marcus Alford (47).
Senior running back Zach Bauman became NAU's career rushing leader, finishing with 56 yards to move to 3,803 in his career.
The two teams combined for only 436 yards of offense.
