Kyle Porter's tally six minutes from time rescued a point for D.C. United in a feisty 2-2 draw with the Los Angeles Galaxy on Saturday at RFK Stadium.
Los Angeles jumped out to the early lead just seven minutes into the match when Robbie Keane latched onto a pass from Landon Donovan and deposited his 13th goal of the season past United goalkeeper Bill Hamid.
But the hosts found an equalizer six minutes before the interval when Chris Pontius capitalized on a poor pass by Omar Gonzalez and bagged his second goal of the campaign as the clubs went into the break on level terms.
The two-time defending champions were forced to make some changes heading into the second half as Donovan was subbed off due to an ankle injury, but still managed to take the lead in the 81st minute through Michael Stephens' first goal of the season.
D.C. United, however, would not go quietly and collected another equalizer just four minutes later as Porter pounded it past Los Angeles goalkeeper Jaime Penedo as the sides settled for a point apiece.
