Jim Furyk was 10 shots worse than his 59, though it was still enough for him to take a one-shot lead in the BMW Championship.
Furyk three-putted from 30 feet on the final hole Saturday at Conway Farms for a 2-under 69, giving him the lead over Steve Stricker going into the final round. Furyk on Friday finished with a birdie on the ninth hole for a 59, only the sixth player in PGA Tour history to shoot golf's magic number.
Furyk, winless since the Tour Championship in 2010, was at 13-under 200. Stricker holed out for eagle on the 15th hole and shot 64 to get into the last group.
Tiger Woods, assessed a two-shot penalty after his second round, had a 66 and was four shots back.
