The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled outfielder Alex Castellanos and purchased the contract of outfielder Nick Buss from Triple-A Albuquerque prior to Saturday's contest with the San Francisco Giants.
The 26-year-old Buss will make his major league debut upon his first appearance. In 131 games with Albuquerque, Buss batted .303 with 17 homers and 100 RBI and was named to the Pacific Coast League All-Star team.
Castellanos made his major league debut in 2012 and hit for a .257 average with 19 homers and 61 RBI in 105 games with the Isotopes this season. He also swiped 19 bases.
In a corresponding move, the Dodgers transferred pitcher Jose Dominguez to the 60-day disabled list.
