Seung-Yul Noh shot 6-under-par 65 on Friday to grab a 2-stroke lead at the suspended Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship, the third event of the Web.com Tour Finals.
Noh, who posted one top-10 finish in 25 PGA Tour starts this season, sits at 9-under 133 through 36 holes at Ohio State University Golf Club's blustery Scarlet Course.
"The course was very difficult today because of the wind," he said. "It was tough to control irons and the putting was also difficult. Today everything went perfect and I was making some putts."
Chesson Hadley carded a 67 to move into solo second at 7-under 135, while Kelly Kraft shot 69 and grabbed third place at 5-under before the second round was suspended due to darkness with two players left on the course.
Sean O'Hair (72), Tyrone Van Aswegen (73), Edward Loar (71) Miguel Angel Carballo (71) and Wes Roach (68) share fourth place at 4-under 138.
Ben Martin (69), Will Claxton (68), Jim Herman (75), Spencer Levin (68) and Marcel Siem (70) are tied for ninth at minus-3.
The first round concluded Friday morning after a three-plus hour rain delay caused a suspension due to darkness on Thursday.
Jim Herman held the 18-hole lead, but he stumbled to a 75 in the second round, opening the door for Noh.
Starting the second round four shots off Herman's pace, Noh went bogey-free to jump in front.
The 22-year-old started on the 10th tee and birdied two straight from the 11th before adding birdies at Nos. 16 and 18 to turn in 31.
Noh birdied the second to grab the outright lead at 8-under and added another birdie at the sixth before parring out to hit the clubhouse with the advantage.
Hadley, who also started the second round four shots off the lead, countered his lone bogey with five birdies to move into second place.
