The Minnesota Lynx have announced a multi- year contract extension with 2011 WNBA finals MVP Seimone Augustus.

Per team policy, terms of the deal have not been released.

In eight WNBA seasons, all with the Lynx, Augustus has posted career averages of 18.7 points and 3.6 rebounds per contest. She is Minnesota's all-time leader in points (4,174), field goals made (1,666) and games played (223).

"We are thrilled to have extended the contract of one of the league's premier scorers and a cornerstone of our franchise over the last eight years," said Lynx executive vice president Roger Griffith.

Augustus, 29, was selected by the Lynx with the No. 1 overall pick of the 2006 WNBA Draft and won the league's Rookie of the Year award in 2006. She has appeared in three All-Star games and earned a place on the All-WNBA second team three times.
