Jimmy Garoppolo passed for 440 yards and four touchdowns as Eastern Illinois pulled past Southern Illinois 40-37 in double overtime on Saturday.

Garoppolo had a huge day for the Panthers (2-0), completing 34 of 56 passes with one interception and four touchdowns. He connected with Erik Lora who had 136 yards and one touchdown and with Adam Drake who had 103 yards and two touchdowns.

Southern Illinois' Kory Faulkner hit John Lantz for 17 yards and a touchdown with two minutes left in regulation to tie at 30-30. Faulkner was 28 of 50 and 294 yards for Southern Illinois (0-2).

Eastern Illinois scored in the first overtime on a Taylor Duncan 2-yard run. Faulkner answered for Southern Illinois with a 2-yard touchdown pass to MyCole Pruitt.

In the second OT, the Panthers' Cameron Berra hit a 36-yard field goal to give Eastern Illinois the lead and the game.
