Matt Wieters hit a two-run single with two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift the Baltimore Orioles to a 4-3 win over the Chicago White Sox at Camden Yards.

Pinch-hitter Conor Gillaspie launched a home run off Tommy Hunter (4-3) to give Chicago a 3-2 lead in the top of the 10th.

Baltimore, however, got to White Sox closer Addison Reed (5-3) in the home half of the inning. A pinch-hitting Henry Urrutia and Nick Markakis strung together consecutive one-out singles, with the latter stealing second. Wieters then delivered with a base hit to right field.

Wei-Yin Chen gave up two runs on six hits and struck out eight over six innings for Baltimore, which is in the thick of the AL wild-card race.

"We've got to keep winning. We've got to win tomorrow, and come out here with that mindset," Wieters said.

Hector Santiago allowed two runs on seven hits and walked two in five innings for the White Sox, who have lost nine straight games -- all during a 10-game road trip -- after winning 10 of their previous 12.

"Anytime you lose late it always hurts," said Chicago manager Robin Ventura.

Chris Davis doubled home Manny Machado in the first inning to give the Orioles an early lead. A run-scoring single by Paul Konerko tied the game in the fourth before Chicago's Dayan Viciedo and Baltimore's Brian Roberts traded leadoff homers in the fifth.
