Yankees' Nova named AL Pitcher of the Month

New York, NY – New York Yankees right-hander Ivan Nova was named the American League Pitcher of the Month for August.

In six starts, Nova had a 2.08 ERA and 4-0 record with 31 strikeouts and 12 walks over 43.1 innings. It was his first career monthly award.

Jarrod Parker of the A's, Yu Darvish and Martin Perez of the Rangers, Greg Holland of the Royals, Anibal Sanchez and Max Scherzer of the Tigers, Mark Buehrle of the Blue Jays and Jarred Cosart of the Astros also received votes for the award.
