For the third consecutive time, Chicago Sky guard/forward Elena Delle Donne was named WNBA Rookie of the Month, selected on Wednesday after turning in a stellar August.

Delle Donne paced all league rookies in scoring (18.4 ppg), rebounds (5.8 rpg), three-point field-goal percentage (.593) and placed second in blocks with 1.6 per contest.

On Aug. 11, in a 94-86 overtime win against Minnesota, she posted a career- high 32 points, and less than two weeks later, fill the stat sheet with 25 points, eight rebounds and two blocks in a 67-56 decision against Atlanta.

For the season, the Delaware product is tops amongs all first-year players in free-throw percentage (.916), fourth in scoring average (18.3) and fifth in blocked shots (1.3).

The 23-year-old has led the Sky to an Eastern Conference-best 21-8 record and was the leading vote-getter for this year's All-Star Game, though Delle Donne was forced to miss the contest due to a concussion.
