Robert Meachem compares his second stint with the New Orleans Saints to the comfort of coming home.

Meachem left in free agency only one year ago for San Diego — which handed him a four-year contract worth nearly $26 million — only to be cut after this preseason and leave town labeled as a free-agent bust.

Now in his seventh NFL season, the receiver says he aims to rekindle his career now that he's back in an offense designed by coach Sean Payton, and operated by star quarterback Drew Brees.

Meachem has enjoyed his best days as a pro in the Big Easy, putting up his best numbers in 2009, when he had 45 catches for 722 yards and nine touchdowns while helping the Saints win their only Super Bowl.
