The NCAA has cleared Memphis guard Michael Dixon to play this season for the Tigers.

Memphis said it received notification Wednesday that Dixon, a senior, will be allowed to compete immediately after transferring from Missouri in June.

Dixon, who has one year of eligibility remaining, averaged 13.5 points and 3.3 assists for Missouri in 2011-12 -- his most recent season.

He was accused last year of sexual assault for the second time, bringing his time at Missouri to an end. Dixon was never charged with a crime.
